Your Questions

A bride and groom standing on a sandy beach, holding hands and gazing at each other, with a backdrop of tall green trees and a cloudy sky.

Will our ceremony actually feel like us?
Yes. Every word, gesture and ritual is shaped from your story and values — never from a template. My goal is for you to feel completely at home in your own ceremony.

You might be wondering…

What if we get emotional or forget what to do?
That’s all part of the beauty. I’ll be right there, guiding you gently through each moment so you can relax, breathe and let it unfold naturally.

We want something simple but still meaningful. is that possible?
Absolutely. A ceremony doesn’t have to be long or elaborate to touch the heart. Even the smallest moments can hold deep significance when they’re created with intention.

We’re not sure how this all works, will it feel easy?
Yes. I make the process clear and calm from start to finish. You’ll know what to expect and I’ll hold the details so you can stay focused on what truly matters: your connection.

QUESTIONS &ANSWERS

  • We begin with a complimentary consultation (by phone or video) to ensure we’re a great fit and to hear your story and vision. Once you’re ready, you’ll sign the contract and pay your deposit to secure your date.
Depending on your package, you’ll complete a fun and heartfelt questionnaire about your love story, your values and any rituals or readings you’d love to include.

I’ll then craft a ceremony that feels true to you; whether that’s simple and sweet or deeply personalized.
If you’d like, we can also schedule a rehearsal to walk through the flow. On the day, I arrive early, ground the space, deliver your ceremony with warmth and presence, and ensure your marriage licence is signed and filed properly.

  • Yes! I’m based on the west coast of Vancouver Island (Ucluelet & Tofino) and absolutely love travelling to other parts of BC — and beyond — to celebrate love stories.

Travel fees may apply for longer distances or remote locations, but we’ll discuss all of that in our consultation so there are no surprises.

  • Most ceremonies last between 15–30 minutes depending on the package, number of readings or rituals and how much personalization you’d like.
Even a short ceremony can feel incredibly meaningful… it’s all about presence, intention and connection.

  • My ceremonies are not religious — they’re spiritual, inclusive and grounded in love and nature. Whether you’re non-religious, interfaith, spiritual, or simply wanting something heartfelt and personal, we’ll shape the tone to reflect what’s true for you both.

  • Absolutely! I love weaving in special touches like custom readings, vow exchanges, or nature-based rituals. From a shell or stone exchange to tree planting, handfasting or ocean blessings.
You can also have friends or family participate in readings, or we can create something unique that represents your story and connection.

  • Yes and I encourage it! Writing your own vows can be one of the most memorable parts of your ceremony. I can offer guidance and structure to help you express what’s in your heart, or provide examples if you’d like inspiration.

  • You’ll need to obtain a Marriage Licence from any Vital Statistics agent in BC (it’s valid for 3 months and costs around $100). You’ll also need two witnesses present. I’ll take care of signing and filing the paperwork afterward so your marriage is legally registered.

  • Marriage Commissioner is a government-appointed official who performs standard legal ceremonies, typically with limited personalization.
As a Wedding Officiant, I have the freedom to create and deliver a fully customized, heart-centred ceremony that reflects you — your love story, your beliefs and your shared values.

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to your ceremony.
If you need to reschedule, I’ll do my best to accommodate you based on availability. Life happens, and I try to meet changes with understanding and flexibility.

  • Yes! Rehearsals are included in some packages and available as an add-on for others.
If you’re planning a larger ceremony or want extra comfort before the day, I highly recommend one. For elopements or small gatherings, we can walk through the flow and timing over a quick call.

  • I officiate everything from intimate elopements for two to larger gatherings of 200+ guests.
No matter the size, my intention is always to create a space that feels connected, grounded and personal.

  • Yes and I absolutely love them! Adventure weddings are some of my favourite ceremonies to officiate. Whether it’s travelling by boat to a secluded beach, flying to a remote mountaintop, hiking through old-growth forest, kayaking into a quiet cove, or ski touring into alpine wilderness… I’m all in.

If you’re drawn to the idea of saying your vows surrounded by nature in a truly unforgettable setting, I can help you co-create that experience. I work alongside experienced local guides, photographers and adventure specialists to ensure your day is safe, seamless, and breathtaking from start to finish.

Every adventure wedding is unique, so I encourage couples to reach out for a personalized consultation. Together, we’ll dream up and design your perfect wilderness ceremony — one that reflects your love, your spirit of adventure, and your connection to this incredible coast.

  • Living on the west coast means embracing the elements! I’m flexible and can work with you on a backup plan whether that’s a covered forest nook, a shift in timing (if possible), or the use of umbrellas.
Together we’ll create a simple “rain plan” so that you can stay relaxed and enjoy your day no matter the weather.

  • Yes, absolutely! This is a wonderful option for couples who want someone close to them to lead the ceremony while I take care of the legal side.
I can also help your chosen person by providing a simple script and guidance so they feel comfortable and confident on the day.

  • Completely — in every sense of the word. I welcome and celebrate all love stories and all identities. Whether you identify as LGBTQIA+, non-binary, trans, queer, or in any expression of love and partnership, you are deeply respected and honoured here.

I believe in the authentic expression of self, that every person deserves to be seen, valued and celebrated exactly as they are. My ceremonies are created as safe, loving spaces where you can show up as your full self, without hesitation or limitation.

  • That’s so natural. It simply means you’re present and your hearts are open. My role is to hold a calm, steady space so you can relax into the moment and feel fully connected to each other. There’s no right way to be — laughter, tears, shaky hands — it’s all part of the beauty and truth of the day.

  • For popular dates (especially summer weekends), I recommend booking as soon as you have your venue confirmed.
For elopements or last-minute ceremonies, reach out anyway as I often have flexibility and love being part of spontaneous celebrations!

  • No problem! I work with many destination couples coming to Tofino and Ucluelet. I can guide you through everything you need to know about your licence, witnesses and legal steps as well as recommend local vendors to make the process smooth and stress-free.

  • That’s completely okay! Most couples haven’t done this before. It’s my job to make it easy.
We’ll move step-by-step through the process, I’ll ask all the right questions, and together we’ll co-create a ceremony that feels natural and true to you.

  • Once you’ve decided to move forward, I’ll send a digital contract and invoice. You can pay securely online.
A deposit is due at booking, and the balance is due 14 days before your wedding. You’ll receive everything clearly laid out in your welcome package.
