Officiant

Meet Your Soulful

Hi, I’m Jen.

A woman with long wavy hair walking barefoot on a wooden path in a lush green forest, sunlight streaming through the trees.

I’m the the Founder & Officiant behind Soulful Unions.

I graciously live and work on the traditional territory of the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ First Nation (Ucluelet) on Vancouver Island’s west coast — a place where the mountains meet the sea, the forest opens onto the beach, and nature is ever-present.

For me, a wedding ceremony is more than a script… it’s a story. Your story, reflected in your style, your vision, your roots. I believe in crafting ceremonies that honour connection: to each other, to your community, and to the wild and wonderful landscape around you.

As a Certified Executive Coach, Embodiment facilitator & Transformational Dance Teacher, I bring a unique depth to each ceremony. My background allows me to hold space for couples with presence and sensitivity, guiding them toward a deep understanding of one another and the intention behind their union.

Ceremony, to me, is an invitation to ground your love in meaning. To celebrate not only your partnership but your shared growth and soul journey.

Outside of officiating, you’ll often find me surfing, hiking, sailing, or dancing; immersed in the rhythm of nature. I cherish time spent exploring the coastline with my daughter and partner as we cultivate our beautiful life together. I believe in the power of presence, in honouring each other’s stories, and in creating moments that feel sacred yet joyfully alive!

Whether you’re planning an island vow exchange, an intimate forest gathering, or an elopement by the waves, I’m here to guide you with calm presence, creativity, and wholehearted commitment.

Let’s create something authentic, meaningful, and unmistakably yours.

My Story

A woman in a white jumpsuit laughing and holding a beige shawl on a pebbled beach with rocky cliffs and green trees in the background.

Soulful Unions was born from moments of inspiration that wove together over time.

It began back in 2016, when I led a cleansing ceremony for my cousin’s wedding, intertwining a poem I had written. The ritual was meant to ground everyone, clear away old energy, and create a positive foundation for their marriage to begin. It opened my eyes to how powerful intentional ceremony can be and how it can bring presence, depth, and beauty to such a meaningful day.

Then in 2019, I was invited to do a reading at a friend’s wedding in the UK. Once again, I wrote a poem, and during the ceremony, I watched the officiant hold space with such grace, weaving the couple’s story and spirit into every word. I was deeply moved. Something in me knew: this is what I want to do.

By 2021, I began officiating weddings on the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island — in Ucluelet and Tofino — where the forest meets the sea. It felt like the natural meeting point of all I love: connection, nature, and intentional celebration.

Through Soulful Unions, I blend my coaching background, my embodiment practices, and my reverence for ritual to create ceremonies that are authentic, grounded, and full of heart.

My Values

A woman in a white jumpsuit is standing barefoot on a rocky beach, holding a large, light-colored towel or blanket, with a forested hillside in the background.
A scenic view of a sandy beach with gentle waves, surrounded by green trees and hills, with mountains in the background under a cloudy sky at sunset.

My values are simple yet profound:

Connection to self, each other, and the natural world.
Intention creating space for meaning and mindfulness.
Presence grounding each ceremony in authenticity and truth.
Celebration honouring love in all its forms.

Every ceremony is uniquely cultivated to reflect who you are: your energy, your story, your essence.

I welcome and celebrate love in all its beautiful forms — honouring every identity, every expression, and every way two souls choose to unite. My hope is that when you stand together, surrounded by love and nature, you feel deeply seen, celebrated, and connected; ready to begin your marriage with presence, authenticity, and purpose.

xoxo, Jen
